CNN March 29, 2010: Scientology: A history of violence – Part One

Monday night we told you about Marty Rathbun. He was a member of the Church of Scientology for 27 years before leaving in 2004.

He rose through the ranks of the Sea Organization, the international management team that runs church operations world wide.

Rathbun says he was the Inspector General and answered only to church leader David Miscavige, the same man who he says would use physical abuse against other members of the churches elite management team.

Rathbun’s ex-wife says he’s lying, and other current Sea Organization members agree. They also say it was Rathburn who was the attacker, not Miscavige.

They say there were a number of incidents where Rathbun would punch, choke or slap other members of the church and that because of his repeated attacks, he removed from his postion of authority at the Church. Rathbun says they are exaggerating. He admits to using physical force, but says it was Miscavige who not only created the culture of violence, he encouraged it.

Tuesday at 10 PM/ET we hear from other former high ranking officials within the church who say they either witnessed or were physically assaulted by the church leader.

Allegations the church strongly denies.

'Bombshell' Picks Fight With Chelsea Handler, Loses!

Michelle "Bombshell" McGee might want to consider choosing her adversaries a little more carefully. We would think it common sense -- not that she's shown much of that recently (ever?) -- but starting a beef with a popular late night talk show host known for talking celebrity smack was probably ill-advised ... to say the least.

So it's really no surprise that McGee's saucy response to a joke on comedienne Chelsea Handler's blog has gotten her into hot water with the E! gabber, according to EW.

The war of words began after Handler posted a joke about McGee on her blog, saying, "I guess she doesn't read magazines which makes sense, since she basically has one on her face." In Handler-land, that's about as tame as a joke is going to get, and given the amount of ink spilled dissing McGee since the Jesse James infidelity scandal broke, she should have just left it go.

But she didn't, of course. Bad move.

McGee responded on her Facebook page, saying, "Chelsea, here's some free advice: Use some of that Botox from your forehead and put it in your flabby underarm skin. I've seen better wings in a bucket of KFC chicken."

We don't mean to question McGee's (always spot-on) judgment, but when your platform is a Facebook page and your opponent's is a hit show on E! built around a round table of comics cracking jokes at the expense of celebrities, well, you're not exactly going to get a muffin basket thanking you for poking fun of the host's appearance.

And as such, Handler took to her show last night and dealt McGee a proper smackdown. After cracking a few jokes about dipping her arms in blue cheese, the host got a little hostile: "First of all, look at my forehead, you dumb b***h, okay? It moves. You have a tattoo on your forehead, so you have had a needle in your forehead -- and probably Jesse James' b***s. So shut your face." Pow!

La ignorancia de WAPA Tv y la homofobia en Puerto Rico! March 2010

Mi mensaje para los productores de WAPA TV en Puerto Rico: (March 02 2010)

A quien pueda interesarle:

Yo nunca habia visto tanta homofobia junta en la television de Puerto Rico; y luego nos quejamos cuando vemos a uno de nuestros hermanos que es asesinado por un homofobico! Que verguenza me da la Comay y Hector; homofobicos e ignorantes, que combinacion y que pena; y la falta de respeto de parte de los productores de la television en Puerto Rico, no tiene limites! Este video es noticia vieja aqui en los EU; aqui ya sabiamos de la Dra. Marci Bowers! Que ignorantes!

No esta nada bien que aplaudamos y que nos tomemos a manera chiste la vida de los seres humanos; WAPA TV, ustedes deberian de considerar mas a las personas gay, lesbianas y bisexuales, incluso los transexuales; que necesidad tiene WAPA de patrocinar un programa el cual se les ensena a nuestros jovenes a odiar y a burlarse de los demas por el simple hecho de ser diferentes! WAPA Tv, le debe una disculpa a todos mis hermanos boricuas, a mis hermanos los gays (homosexuales) y a todos los demas que forman parte de la comunidad! Luego no se quejen cuando pasen la proxima noticia donde otro hermano muere a manos de un homofobico, no sean tan hipocritas; hagan algo ya, y paren de difundir tanta homofobia en el pais de Puerto Rico; es verdaderamente repugnante el tener que ver a dos hombres adultos (Kobbo Santarosa y Hector Travieso)(el apellido "travieso" le queda como anillo al dedo, ah) jugando a jueces como si todavia fueron unos ninos de 5 o 10 anos de edad! Me espanta ver este tipo de gente destilando odio y con tanta libertad en la patalla de nuestros televisores; tienen suerte de no estar aqui en este pais de los Estados Unidos; aqui ya se les hubiera mandado a las ofinias de desempleo, a colectar desempleo por ser tan ignorantes e irresponsables!

Yo quisiera seguir diciendoles mas de lo que pienso; pero no me alcanza el tiempo, ni tengo las ganas para continuar, ademas, yo no soy su maestro de primner grado de escuela elementar; usteds (WAPA TV y el equipo de la producion de Super Xclusivo)van a tener que regresar en tiempo y hacer la labor de todo buen conductor, la cual es informarce, y sobre todo ejercer una disciplina de honor y de todo respeto, que es lo menos que ustedes le deben al publico Puertorriqueno!

Gana Gaviota, pierde diente

El divo español Raphael brindó una presentación impecable y se llevó todos los trofeos que concede el Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar, pero perdió un diente poco después de recibir una Antorcha de Plata.

"El Niño de Linares", que ofreció un extenso y aclamado concierto para celebrar "sus primeros 50 años" en el Festival, perdió una pieza dental en medio de su actuación y provocó desazón entre los ocupantes de la primera fila del palco.

Nervioso y sorprendido, en un primer momento Raphael buscó con su mirada el diente caído al borde del escenario, pero luego se relajó y continuó con una presentación en la cual interpretó sus éxitos históricos.

Luego de más de dos horas de concierto y de realizar un dúo con el ex solista del conjunto chileno La Ley, Beto Cuevas, y de recibir Antorcha de Oro y Gaviota de Plata, el máximo galardón del Festival, Raphael se retiró del escenario sonriendo tímidamente.

Pero su actuación tuvo un final feliz: Además de todos los premios, el intérprete español pudo recuperar su diente y cerrar una noche exitosa en la cual el incidente del diente perdido será a la postre sólo una anécdota.

I am in the music business and for me it's always been about the music first.

From what I have seen of previous seasons, street smarts seems to be a bit more important, but an education can only help.

Do you consider yourself to be self-disciplined or loose cannon?

I'm a self-disciplined loose cannon.

Ok, I have to admit, I'm addicted to the new VH1 show: "Let's Talk About Pep". It is fantastic, the girls are fun; there are pleasant conversations with topics ranging from sex, friendship, among other issues of great interest to the adult audience. I recommend it, and to be honest I have pasted the TV! The girls are kind, the series is well made, everything is in good taste! Pep looks very mature, and all the girls are kind, 5 stars!

KTLA: NY man arrested after caught on tape beating dog! Warning!

Jan. 2010 (New York City) -- Police arrested a man who was caught on tape viciously beating his girlfriend's dog in a residential elevator.

NYPD Housing Bureau officers were reportedly monitoring the cameras at the Grant Houses in Morningside Heights when they witnessed Charles Grant, 21, repeatedly kicking the one-and-a-half-year old dog in the elevator. Grant is then shown dragging the animal out of the elevator.

Officers used cameras to track Grant as he reportedly headed to a deli and then returned to the housing complex. Authorities then spotted him getting into the elevator with the dog.

(This son of a bitch is not worthy of any compassion; i hope he'll get the same treatment; of course, in jail!)

Shawn Johnson won one gold medal (beam) and three silvers (team, all-around, floor) at the 2008 Beijing Games. Her U.S. Team lost to China, which was accused of having at least one under-age gymnast. The Chinese team eventually was cleared. Johnson was in Akron last week as a guest of the Zips women's basketball team.

Lawyer (and HUNK!) Ben Pavone on MSNBC 01 06 '10

The California lawyer who refuses to pay his Bank of America credit card took his case to cable television on Tuesday, telling MSNBC that the 28 percent interest rate on his credit card is "completely extortionate."

Ben Pavone has demanded a reduced rate on his card. If Bank of America refuses and instead ruins his credit report, which is likely, he says he'll sue. An anchor asked Pavone why he thought he was so special, given that so many people are in a similar situation and aren't making such a fuss.

"We bailed you out when you needed our money and you can't go around collecting money from the government at one percent and then charging 28 percent," said Pavone. "I mean that's a ridiculous spread. It's completely extortionate, and somebody's got to take a stand."

Pavone said Bank of America had not responded to his demand.
